Stookey Family Taco Pie Recipe
One of our favorite go-to meals is this delicious Taco Pie, a Stookey family recipe that my husband, Jason, shared with me after we got married. It quickly became a staple in our house, and we make it at least once a month! It’s easy, comforting, and full of flavor. Perfect for busy weeknights or a cozy weekend dinner.
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 (4 oz) can diced green chilies
- 1 small can sliced black olives
- 1 can refrigerated crescent dough (or 1 sheet of crescent dough)
- 1/4 cup cornmeal
- 2 cups sour cream
- 2 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend
- Sliced green onions and salsa for topping

Instructions:
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- Prepare the Crust: Spray a pie pan with non-stick cooking spray. Roll out the crescent dough into the bottom of the pan, pressing it up the sides to form a crust. Sprinkle the top of the dough with cornmeal for added texture and flavor.
- Cook the Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, then drain any excess grease. Stir in the taco seasoning, following the package instructions.
- Mix in the Add-ins: Add the diced green chilies and sliced black olives to the cooked ground beef, mixing well.
- Assemble the Pie: Pour the beef mixture into the prepared pie crust. Spread an even layer of sour cream over the beef mixture, then top with shredded cheese.
- Bake: Place the taco pie in the oven and bake for 20 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and cooked through.
- Rest & Serve: Let the taco pie sit for about 5 minutes before slicing. Top with sliced green onions and your favorite salsa before serving.
This Taco Pie is a crowd-pleaser and an easy way to switch up your taco night. Serve it with a side salad or some Mexican rice for a complete meal. Enjoy!
